Restoration of Kindergarten No. 726 Damaged by a Blast Wave

The armed aggression of the Russian Federation continues to destroy educational institutions across Ukraine, threatening the continuity of the learning process. According to data from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine’s SaveSchools platform, by the end of 2025, 4,358 institutions had been damaged by shelling and bombardment. In Kyiv, 241 institutions were affected, including Combined Preschool Educational Institution No. 726 (nursery-kindergarten).

Kindergarten No. 726 holds particular importance for Kyiv, as it serves, among others, children with special educational needs and musculoskeletal disorders. The facility also houses a Social Services and Rehabilitation Unit for children with disabilities, part of the Territorial Center of Social Services of the Holosiivskyi District.

Here, not only are conditions created for quality education and development of children with special needs, but parents are also able to return to work with confidence, knowing their child is in safe and caring hands.

Our main goal was to restore the preschool institution damaged on August 1, 2025, as quickly as possible. This was made possible thanks to the support of strong partners:

• The Holosiivskyi District State Administration of Kyiv, which responded promptly and collaborates with us within a long-term partnership;
  
• GEM (Global Empowerment Mission), which carried out the rapid repair of damaged windows;
  
• Leroy Merlin Ukraine, our strategic partner.
  

The Solidarity Foundation provided the institution with all necessary construction materials — tiles, screed, bricks, paint, doors, and other supplies — and financed the following works: restoration of window openings, door replacement, ceiling repair, renovation of the entrance hall, and tile installation.
