Context and Challenge

Access to medical care is a fundamental human right, enshrined in international law and in Ukrainian legislation. However, the war waged by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory has placed this right at risk, leaving many Ukrainians living near the front line without access to essential treatment.

The numbers speak for themselves: since February 2022, 2,108 healthcare facilities across Ukraine have been damaged, and another 311 have been completely destroyed (according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, as of August 1, 2025). The most extensive destruction has been recorded in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Rebuilding or restoring medical facilities in these regions is currently impossible, as constant shelling makes any construction work extremely dangerous.

The “mobile clinics” provided by the Fortitude Association — semi-trailers converted into fully equipped mobile medical units — offer an effective solution to the shortage of medical infrastructure in hard-to-reach areas. They travel from one community to another to provide medical care while reducing the risk of being targeted during Russian attacks.

**Solidarity Contribution**
Our collaboration with the **Fortitude Charitable Association** began in 2023 to fit out three semi-trailers intended to be converted into mobile medical units.
We are convinced that every Ukrainian should have access to necessary medical care without discrimination, regardless of social status, income level, cultural background, or place of residence.
Considering the effectiveness of the program implemented by our partners at **Fortitude** (to date, **50,000 people** have benefited from these mobile medical units in hard-to-reach frontline areas), we have decided to provide the necessary materials **to equip six additional semi-trailers**.

Results and Impact

Each semi-trailer fitted out by Fortitude is equipped with three medical examination rooms, fully compliant with the sanitary standards recommended by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, and can operate independently for an entire day.

The six new semi-trailers will be deployed to liberated territories where medical infrastructure has been destroyed, enabling residents to consult general practitioners and specialists, receive lab results promptly, and access appropriate treatment.
