Context and Challenge

The attack by the Russian Federation in 2022 caused significant destruction in many regions of Ukraine, including the Kyiv region. As a result, the “Dobrorad” condominium in the city of Irpin lost its roof due to direct impacts. Apartments on the upper floors (4th and 5th) were completely destroyed, the roof collapsed, and all belongings were burned. Fortunately, the residents were able to evacuate in time. After the liberation of the Kyiv region, upon returning home, they began looking for solutions to rebuild their housing. The priority was to restore the roof and load-bearing walls, as well as to fully renovate 16 apartments so that residents could move back in.

Solidarity’s Contribution

Our foundation provided everything necessary to first rebuild the roof and facade, and then the 16 apartments. We financed materials for all stages of the works—from rough construction to finishing and decorative works—so that residents could restore their homes: plaster, putty, paint, wallpaper, laminate flooring, doors, faucets, and much more. Thanks to this, residents were able to renovate their apartments much faster.

Results and Impact

By August 2025, all apartments were ready for occupancy. Some residents had completed their renovations earlier, while others were still furnishing their homes, but the most important outcome is that the building has been restored and is now safe to live in. We helped residents preserve one of the most important things in their lives: their own home, a place where they can build their future.
