The Leroy Merlin Solidarity Charitable Foundation, together with the Dutch NGO OpenDoorUkraine, and with the support of the Chernihiv Regional Administration, built and fully equipped 5 houses for 5 families in the Kyselivska community. Now families whose homes were destroyed in the fighting will be able to start a new life. Our partner, the Dutch NGO OpenDoorUkraine, financed all the work using the principles of sustainable construction. And Solidarity provided all the necessary materials for interior decoration and furnishing.
The official handover of the keys to the new houses to the families of the Kyselivka community was attended by Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine Esselin van Erten and other high-ranking officials from the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Solidarity will continue to work with its Dutch partner in the Kyselivka community to provide new housing for a number of families in difficulty. “It is very important for our organisation and our donors that people can live on their own land. Currently, we are dealing with the fact that most of the houses in the Kyselivka community have been destroyed to the ground, and our organisation, together with Leroy Merlin Solidarity, is helping to provide them with proper housing. We see Ukraine as a free European state, and we want every Ukrainian to have decent living conditions,” said Robert Serry, President of OpenDoorUkraine.NL.
